Yousof va Zoleikha (1956)
Synopsis
Joseph's brothers are jealous of him, who is loved by their father Jacob. They take him to the desert and throw him into a well, away from his father's sight.
A caravan finds Joseph in the well and sells him to Egypt as a slave. Joseph's owner, Zuleikha, falls in love with him, and in an incident, the beloved of Egypt, Zuleikha's husband, throws him into prison.

Seven years later, he is released from prison for interpreting Pharaoh's dream and reaches the position of the beloved of Egypt and, with a wise method, saves the Egyptian people who are in danger of famine and destruction.
Old Jacob finds his lost Joseph after many years. Zuleikha grows old with age and regains her youth and vitality upon seeing Joseph.

This film, produced by Esmail Koushan, is a product of Pars Film Studio and was released in 1956. It failed in Iran but sold well in Iraq.
The film was first shown on Monday, December 3, 1956, in two cinemas, Alborz and "Khorshid No" in Tehran. The film replaced the Indian film "Mr. 420" (dir. Raj Kapoor) in Alborz Cinema.
