Rasul Molagholipoor (September 8, 1955 - March 5, 2007)
Born in Tehran in 1955. Began his artistic career as a photographer. Then went on making documentaries on Iran-Iraq war.
He started professional filmmaking by directing a 16mm film titled Neinava. Mollaqolipour has also been active in screenwriting.
He was a jury member for the competition of first and second films of directors at the 9th and 15th editions of Fajr Film Festival.
Tehran-born Rasoul Molagholipur started his career as a wartime photographer behind the lines of the Iran-Iraq conflict of the late 1970s.
He drew upon this experience in war-themed films like Journey to Chazzabe and The Thirsty Water Carrier.
Throughout his 20-year career, Molagholipur has focused on intimate human interaction in the midst of societal chaos (managing to avoid official censure, however, in such relatively dangerous pursuits).
Afflicted Generation is his 13th feature film.
