Rain Man | Marde Barani (2000)
Synopsis

Ziba, a former med student of Dr. Barani returns to Iran after finishing her studies as an oncologist and decides to join the doctor in his research.
As the research begins to look promising, the doctor finds himself on the verge of a love affair that could prove dangerous to his personal and professional life.
Cast: Faramarz Gharibian, Mahtab Keramati, Keyhan Maleki, Roya Teymoorian
Barani is the story of a lost generation that has neither a place in the past nor the youthful bravado of facing the future.
Barani is the story of a generation that, disappointed with the past and fearful of the future, has only the transient present moment in which he is condemned, like a modern day sisyphus, to roll the rock of his destiny to the top of the mountain...
For the past few years I have been asking myself what could I, a man who has crossed the middle point of life and is advancing towards the maturity of old age, say that would express my inner impressions with no pretensions or compromise.
After all, I too belong to that lost generation that has to put up with pervasive doubts, and the sanctuary of love. Barani is about middle-age.... doubts and love... -- Abolhassan Davoudi
