Abbas Amiri (1950-2010, Rasht, Gilan, Iran)
Abbas Amiri-Moqaddam was born in Amol. After finishing high school, he joined the Theater Office of Rasht and began stage and cinema acting.
He first appeared in a minor role in the drama “Forest Uprising”.
His film debut was “Fire in Winter” (1984). He proved his acting skills with “The Bride” after which he became known as a versatile film and television actor.
He was nominated for a Fajr International Film Festival Crystal Symorgh for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for “Somewhere Far Away” in 2005.
One of his most memorable roles was the priest of the Temple of Amun in the drama “Prophet Joseph” and Abu-Moosa Ash’ari in the drama “Imam Ali (PBUH)”.
His last role in a period drama was that of Amer bin Mas’ood in “Mokhtarnameh”.
He passed away in a traffic accident in 2010.
