Faramarz Sedighi (November 11, 1949, Saqqez, Iran)
Faramarz Sedighi (born 1949) is an Iranian actor and assistant director.
A theater graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts from University of Tehran, Seddighi started his professional career in 1969 with acting in "Rostam and Sohrab" theaters.
His first cinematic experience was in 1972 with the film "Cheshmeh" (Fountain) by Arbi Ovanessian.
Sedighi became famous with "Speeding Naked Till High Noon" (1972) and his outstanding performances include Snake Fang (1989) and "Blade and Silk" (1985).
Faramarz Sedighi lived and studied in Saghez until he was 17. In 1967 at age 18, he moved to Tehran to attend University.
Sedighi starred in several movies before the Iranian revolution in 1979, such as "The Virgin Woman" in 1973, alongside with Morteza Aghili and Mehdi Fakhimzadeh.
His first professional experience after the revolution was Gholam-Ali Erfan's "Said all three of them", in which he played alongside Saeed Amir Soleimani, Jamshid Mashayekhi and Homayoun Asadian.
His other films include Snake Fang, "The Last Flight", "Love-stricken", and "The Prosecutor".
Sedighi worked also as a theater teacher before the Iranian revolution, and one of his most famous students was Mehraneh Mahin Torabi.
In 1992, Faramarz Sedighi wrote and directed his first feature movie "The Bait" with Jamshid Hashempour and Reza Rooygari in major roles. The last film in which he played as an actor is "Khak va Atash" (Soil and fire) from 2010.
According to some of his colleagues, Sedighi chose to withdraw from cinema in the 1990s, and according to his relatives, Faramarz Siddiqui has developed Alzheimer's disease in recent years. (wikitia.com)
