Nikolaj Arcel (August 25, 1972, Copenhagen, Denmark)
Nikolaj Arcel (born 25 august 1972) is a Danish screenwriter and film director.
He graduated from The Danish Film School with the award-winning graduation Woyzeck's last symphony.
He has written the script for climbing girl and broke through as a director in 2004 with the filming of Niels Krause-Kjær's novel King's Game with eg Anders W. Berthelsen and Soren Pilmark.
The film received numerous awards.
His latest film is called The Lost Souls Island from 2007, with a budget of 39 million. It is one of the most expensive in its genre. The film won 5 Robert Price, including the prize as best children's and family films.
He has also written the scripts for the cartoon Saturn and the movie Men who hate women based on Stieg Larsson's novel.
Upcoming film counts the story of Struensee and Caroline Mathilde, and a remake of the classic musical Meet Me in Cassiopeia.
