Mohsen Amiryoussefi was born in Abadan, Iran, in 1972 and holds a masters degree in mathematics.
Having written various plays and scripts, Amiryoussefi changed career paths to focus on his first passion: the cinema.
He made his debut in 1995 with the short film The Fine, following it up with his sophomore effort three years later, Nader the Son of the Sword (1998).
Bitter Dream (Khab é Talkh, 2004) is his first feature film.
