Radu Mihaileanu (April 23, 1958, Bucharest, Romania)
Radu Mihăileanu (born April 23, 1958 in Bucharest) is a Jewish Romanian-born French film director and screenwriter.
he left his home country, then under the dictatorship of Ceausescu, to join Fémis. His cinematographic productions quickly met with critical and popular success, and he won the César for best screenplay in 2005 for his film Va, vis et deviens.
He is a graduate of the IDHEC cinematographic institute in Paris.
In addition to his work in the cinema he published a book of poems in 1987 titled Une vague en mal de mer.
His film The Source premiered in competition at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival.
