Milad Alami (May 14, 1982, Teheran, Iran)
Milad Alami is a director and writer, known for Intet kan røre mig (2011), Void (2014) and Mini (2014).
He was born in Iran 1982, grew up in Sweden and now lives in Denmark. He graduated from The National Film School of Denmark in 2011.
Milad Alami's films have been selected to among others, Directors’ Fortnight, New York FF, Clermont Ferrand Short FF, Karlovy Vary Int. Film Festival and many more.
Three of his films have been nominated for the Danish Film Academy Awards, the counterpart of the Oscars and the Bafta Awards. In 2015 his short film Mommy won the best short film award at the Danish Film Academy Awards.
My graduation film, Nothing Can Touch Me was selected to over 40 international film festivals and won 10 awards. His short film Void, was co-directed with Aygul Bakanova, and selected to Directors' Fortnight. Milad has won many international awards for his work and have several times been acknowledged as a "director to watch".
He is currently working on his feature film, directing commercials, writing and directing radio plays.
The Charmer (Charmøren, 2017) is his debut feature film and is participating in the New Directors competition at the 65th San Sebastián International Film Festival is his feature film debut.
He released his feature-length debut The Charmer (Charmøren) in 2017, and followed up in 2023 with Opponent (Motståndaren), that is selected as the Swedish submission to the Oscars this year!
