Abolhassan Davoodi (July 13, 1955, Nishapur, Iran )
Abolhassan Davoodi born in 1955 in Nishapur in Iran, He is a graduate of the Advanced School of TV and Cinema and has a degree in Sociology from the National University of Iran.
He began his career as a film critic. He started out as a film critic and in 1986 he wrote the screenplay for the film “Payizan (Autumn)” in collaboration with Farid Mostafavi, a film directed by Rasoul Sadrameli.
He is the founder of Home Cinema Arta Film and former board director of the House of Cinema of Iran in Tehran. He has also written articles on cinema and previously served as the chairman of the House of Cinema board of directors.
He has been very successful in comedy films such as “Magical Journey” “Pickpockets Don’t Go to Heaven”, “I love Earth”, “Bread, Love and 2000 Motorbike” which were all blockbusters.
His “Barani” (Rain Man) and “Homeland” were nominated for Best Film Awards and Taghato (“Crossing”) was nominated for a Best Director Award at the Fajr International Film Festival.
