Reza Safai (May 1, 1937 - February 11, 2019)
Reza Safai, born on May 1, 1937 in Mashhad, was an Iranian director, screenwriter, producer, editor and actor.
He was a director and editor, known for directing films such as Yeke Bezan (1967), Taghibe khatarnak (1965) and Hoghebazan (1967).
He has directed 53 movies during his artistic career, which is a record breaker among Iranian directors.
Most of his films are classified in a category called filmfarsi.
The speed of his filmmaking activities was such that it is said he shot Lootie Gharne Bistom in 9 days and earned the title of the fastest director of Iranian cinema.
Reza Safai died on February 11, 2019 in Tehran, Iran, after suffering from cancer.
