Mehdi Avaz is a film director and screenwriter

Mehdi Avaz came to Denmark from Iran at the age of 10. He began working as a photographer before taking the step to film director.

'While We Live' (2017) is his feature film debut. The film won a Bodil Award out of four nominations and was also nominated to five Robert Awards. The film was created in collaboration with Mehdi Avaz' brothers, screenwriter Milad and producer Misam Avaz. The same collaboration continues with their sophomore film 'Collision' (2019).

Mehdi Avaz co-founded the production company Rocket Road Pictures with his two brothers. The company is behind both 'While We Live' and 'Collision'.
