Zhaleh Olov (born 6 August 1927 in Tehran, Iran) is an Iranian cinema and television actress, dubbing artist, radio announcer and poet.
Olov is one of the Iranian veterans in the art of acting and dubbing.She is one of the winners of the Iranian 8th conference of Everlasting faces in 2009.
Her father was an army officer and her grandfather (Olov al-Saltaneh) was one of the calligraphers of the Qajar era. As a child, she learned the literary works of Iranian writers such as Hafez, Saadi and Rumi. As a teenager, she was a member of several literary societies and poetry reading groups, and these activities made her qualified to enter the radio for reciting poetry and announcing in 1948.
She graduated from Tehran Preparatory Academy in 1947 and then from Tehran Academy of Arts in 1950.
Her cinematic career began with working as radio announcer, dubbing artist, and as a cinema actress she made her screen debut in The Storm of Life (Toofane zendegi, 1948) by Ali Daryabeigi.
At Esmail Koushan's suggestion, she accepted the lead role in "Enchanter" (Afsoongar) even though it was a negative role, and he was paid 3 thousand tomans. She played the main roles until the late 1930s, but she gradually became a mother icon in Iranian cinema.
Olov dubbed cartoons for the first time in Iran with Walt Disney cartoons, such as Cinderella, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, 101 Dalmatians, Snow White and Aristocats.
