Niusha Zeighami (born July 9, 1980) is an Iranian actress. She has received various accolades, including nominations for two Crystal Simorgh from Iranian Fajr Film Festival and a Hafez Award for her roles in Shourideh (2013) and Hidden Sense (2015)..
Zeighami is a graduat from the Young Cinema Society in 2005 and has an academic degree in Child Psychology. She was featured as an actress for a role in the series 'In the Eye of the Storm' (2003-2009). She also acted in the series ‘Tell the Truth’ (2012).
She says that she entered the acting profession despite his parents' opposition: "When I wanted to enter acting, my mother did not oppose it, she only considered it with a mother's vision of her child's future, but my father did not agree with me becoming an actor. Basically, my father liked scientific work and preferred me to become a doctor or an engineer than an actor. When I entered this field and started working with Mr. Masoud Jafari Jozani and then immediately entered the cinema, a good result was achieved in the first year, then my father changed his mind and agreed to my work."
She learned acting by participating in the free acting classes of the Kanoone Cinemagarane Javan located in Ninth Alley, Bucharest Street, the Argentinian district of Tehran, and was introduced to Masoud Jafari Jozani by this institute. After graduating from these classes, she played the role of a northern village girl in the historical TV series 'In the Eye of the Storm'.
Her first experience as an actor in a movie was in Tardast directed by Mohammad Ali Sajjadi, and this movie led to the collaboration of Zeighami and Sajjadi again in Shourideh, a movie for which she was nominated to receive the Crystal Simorgh for best actress from the 24th Iranian Fajr Film Festival in competition with actors such as Hedieh Tehrani.
Zeighami is one of the serious supporters of Iranian handicrafts. In the conversation she had with the Director General of Iran's Exports, She emphasized the need to introduce the country's handicrafts in the world markets. In a ceremony held at the Society for Protection of Working & Street Children, Zeighami was introduced as the ambassador of Iranian working children. In this event, she stated that the issue of working children or Child Labor is one of her constant concerns: "When I see working children at the crossroads, I say to myself what is the contribution of these children to the world of childhood and why should they enter the work cycle from this age and practice growing up from the very first days of childhood."
