The weak point is Aalami's first feature film as a director. It's a drama film in the genre of psychological and political thriller that was screened in the second edition of the Iranian Fajr Film Festival, where it won Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor for Hossein Parvaresh.
After this movie, he made other movies that were also successful at the box office. But the majority of Iranian cinema critics consider it to be his best film.
The Security office is informed that a person (Abbas Qajar) belonging to an anti-regime group has a meeting in the restaurant Kandoo. The office agents arrest the person and the man they think was meeting him. The main person is shot and killed during the escape.
During the interrogation of the arrested person (Javad Golpaygani), he is told that he will be transferred to the central organization in the capital tomorrow to confront him with the main man.
The chief (Mohammed Abhari) orders the special interrogator of the case (Hossein Parvesh) and another person who is lower than him in rank and known as Morabbi (Jamshid Hashempour) to not use common methods such as torture in this case. He suggests another method by which, through establishing friendship with the accused on the one hand and the stress of facing the special agents in the capital on the other hand, to break the willpower of the accused person so that they can get information from him.
