Synopsis

Nazbanu and her children are living in a highland in Delfak mountain. With the beginning of fall season, a strange teacher enters into this wilderness, and a very unconventional educating begins for the inhabitants.

The magic melody of "Nature" has always been pulling me and none of my works are free of this tight and invisible attachment.

The Winter Song is a song inspired from Nature and is dedicated to the Nature. This film is a logical continuity of my previous works.

And, from a general point of view, we understand that in this "Magic Trip", we get closer to the deep nature of human being which is the only left value of our Earth.

Winter Song by Iranian director Mehranfar

The Winter Song, directed by Farhad Mehranfar, on Saturday was awarded by Athens' International Children's Film Festival as the best film of the year 2003 throughout the world, IRNA reported.

Some 20 different countries put on display their films in the 6th Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People which was held in Apollon Theater Pyrgos, southwestern of Greece.

The renowned and much awarded Iranian film director, Mehranfar has directed Winter Song which is telling a story of endeavors of a female teacher who is also a mother of a village family.

The hardworking teacher in Winter Song provides the opportunity of education for her children in an Iranian village.

Iran's cultural advisor in Greece, on behalf of Mehranfar, received the award of International Children's Film Festival in Athens on Saturday evening in the closing ceremony of the Olympia International Film Festival.

Noora, The Autumn Boys and The Flower, the Bird, the Sun directed respectively by Mahmoud Shoulizadeh, Mehdi Rahmani and Bahram Johari were also displayed and welcomed by the audience and the critics in the Olympia International Film Festival in Athens. (Payvand)
