Mohammad Ali Najafi (1945, Isfahan, Iran)
Mohammad Ali Najafi was born 1945 in Isfahan. He received his diploma from Dar al-Fonoun University of Tehran and has a master's degree in urban planning and architecture from Iran's National University.
He began his artistic career with "Sarbedaran", a popular Iranian tv series.. Ali Shariati was one of Najafi's encouragers to enter the field of performing arts.
In 1977, he established Ayat Film Institute in cooperation with "Islamic Engineers Association". His first cinematic artistic activity was directing the 1979 movie Jong-e Athar ("Athar's Syllabus").
On February 1, 2018, Najafi was honored at the opening ceremony of Fajr Film Festival.
