Roya Teymoorian (March 17, 1960, Tehran, Iran)
Roya Teymoorian graduated in Theater Acting and Directing from Tehran University Faculty of Fine Arts.
She went on to receive a Ph.D. in Art. She began acting in television with the drama “Ra’na” and in 1994 she appeared in the film “Yearning to See You”.
While she has mostly acted in plays but her performance in the movie “Rain Man” saw her nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at both the International Fajr Film Festival and the Iran Cinema Celebration Awards.
In 1999, she won a Golden Statue at the Iran Cinema Celebration Awards for “Women’s Prison”.
In 2003, she was nominated for “The Poisonous Mushroom” and “tik” at the Iran Cinema Celebration Awards.
In 2006, she was nominated for a Cinema Celebration Award for “Café Setareh” and a Crystal Symorgh for “Earring”.
Teymoorian is also dabbles in poetry and story writing.
