This is the story of the famous Iranian painter Kamal-ol-Molk, and the ups and downs of his life at the royal court.
He goes from favorite to outcast and back again, suffering from imprisonment and exile. In the process we are taken with him as he travels through Europe studying art, goes to Karbala, and takes part in the constitutional movement.
He outlives several Qajar kings and ultimately comes face to face with Reza Shah Pahlavi, who confiscates all his paintings and exiles him for good because Kamal-ol-Molk refused to paint his portrait. -- IFilmtv
