Mohammad Ali Keshavarz (April 15, 1930 - June 14, 2020)
Mohammad Ali Keshavarz (born April 15, 1930) is a famous Iranian cinema and theater actor.
Born in Seyhon, Isfahan, Keshavarz graduated from the Tehran University Faculty of Dramatic Arts. He is the second child of the family of Keshavarz which is famous in Isfahan as an artificer family.
He began his acting career with the play “Violinmaker“ in 1960 and began film acting with Night of the Hunchback (Shab-e Ghouzi, fr. Nuit de bossu, 1965) directed by Farrokh Ghaffari.
He is one of the most experienced and prominent actors of Iranian cinema who is still active. He has also appeared in a few television series.
He began professional acting with plays such as “Uncle Vanya”, “Antigone”, “Oedipus the King”, etc.
In 1968, he took to the small screen and played in dramas such as “Aunt Qamar’s House”, “My Uncle Napoleon”, “Hezar Dastan”, “Sarbadars”, “Sultan and the Shepherd”, “Wolves are Grey” and “The Patriarch”. His cinematic debut was in “Shabe Qoozi”.
Keshavarz has appeared in over 57 films so far. He was nominated for a Fajr Film Festival Crystal Symorgh for Best Male Actor for his role in “Mother”.
