Synopsis

Long considered a masterpiece of Iranian cinema, writer-director Farrokh Ghaffari’s dark farce chronicles the misadventures of a traveling theatrical troupe trying to dispose of the corpse of one of its own after a tragic yet comical accident.

Based on a tale from the classic anthology, The Thousand and One Nights, the film - replete with sight gags and wacky misunderstandings - is funny in any language. --Mubi
