Topoli (1972)

Synopsis

Topoli, the dim-witted but physically strong man is hardly able to resist a desire for touching soft objects.

Together with his cousin, Essi who after his aunt’s death has to take care of him, they live and work in a feudal house.

Entertaining the dream of buying a land for themselves, Essi always promises Topoli to get him some rabbits when his dream comes to reality.

After an incident when Topoli’s attempt to touch a girl’s dress is misinterpreted by the angry mob, Topoli and Essi have to flee to a new place.

They arrive at a logging factory and get employed there. But when the factory owner’s salacious daughter-in-law who has failed to coerce the foreman to bed her, meets Topoli a tragedy breaks out. -- Mubi
