15-year-old Taraneh is a good girl. She lives with her grandmother since her father is in prison. Taraneh not only studies, but also works to earn her living.
She is to marry her young fiance, Amir Hossein, after graduation, but soon they get separated while Taraneh is pregnant.

Despite all the troubles she meets as a lonely girl in a corrupted circle after her grandmother's death, Taraneh is determined to keep her baby and lead a simple, innocent life….
After shooting THE GIRL IN THE SNEAKERS, I began thinking of the plot of I'M TARANEH, 15; but for two years, I didn't take the subject seriously.
I was looking for another story that would satisfy me far more. But that was not to happen and I understood gradually that the main element which makes a film inventive or attractive lies in the filmmaker's interpretation of the subject rather than the dramatic twists and complications of the script. I'M TARANEH, 15 is my most satisfying work.
