Shoorangiz Tabatabai (born 1953) is an Iranian actress who worked before the 1979 revolution.
Shoorangiz Tabatabai is known for acting in movies such as Be Dadam Beres Rafigh (1978), Gedaye Ashrafzadeh (1978), Pashne Tala (1975) and Hamrahan (1977).
She entered the world of cinema with the nickname "Catherine" and by starring in Akbar Dilmaj, a film directed by Khosrow Parvizi. Before this movie, she had acted under the pseudonym Shaparak in the movie Khashm o Khoon and Taher, which had not been released yet.
Acting in Akbar Dilmaj (with the presence of Reza Arham Sadr, Irene Zazians and Diana) was a launching pad for Shoorangiz' career. After that, due to her special beauty, she was suddenly noticed by filmmakers, and her salary increased.
Shoorangiz Tabatabai has acted in a significant number of Iranian films. Her most different movie from the IMDb point of view is "The Maid" (Kaniz).
After the 1979 revolution, she married Mohammad Saleh Ala, an Iranian actor, poet, writer, TV host, filmmaker and songwriter.
