Syamak Yasami (June 1925 – 31 May 1994)
Siamak Yasemi (June 1925 – 31 May 1994) was an Iranian director, screenwriter, producer, and poet. He was the son of Rashid Yasemi.
Syamak Yasami was LLM from the University of Toulouse, France. He worked for the Iranian foreign ministry in 1949.
He was active in the Iranian media / newspaper as translator in 1949. He was the head of the speakers in Central Studio in the years 1955-1958.
Began his film carrier with the movie Extacy of Love (Esmail Koushan) as a scriptwriter in 1951. Yasami had worked with Koushan prior to establishing his own company, Pourya Film, in 1960.
In 1965 Yasami made Croesus' Treasure (Ganj-e-Qarun), the movie that really boosted the economy of Iranian cinema and initiated a new genre.
A huge financial success, Croesus' Treasure grossed over seventy million Rials (one million dollars).
The theme of the film concerns the worthless and desperate life of the upper middle class in contrast with the poor and happy working class, which is 'rich' in morals.
