Negar Azarbaijani (1973, Tehran, Iran)
Negar Azarbaijani, born in 1973 in Tehran, is an Iranian actress, writer, editor and director.
She is a graduate of film directing from Tehran’s Art University who started her career in films by playing a role in "The Afflicted Generation" directed by Rasoul Molagholipoor.
"Facing Mirrors" is her first experience as a director.
Azarbaijani's first feature-length movie Facing Mirrors (2011) won the Best Narrative Feature of the 2012 Translations Audience Award at the Seattle Transgender Film Festival.
Produced and written by Fereshteh Taerpour, Facing Mirrors (2011) weaves together the episodes of two women with different social and cultural backgrounds.
Azarbaijani's film was awarded at the 8th edition of Syracuse International Film Festival held in October, 2011 in the United States.
