Mini biography
Khosrow Parvizi (1932 -2012)
Khosrow Parvizi was born 1932 in Abadan, Iran.
Parvizi began his filmmaking career in 1959 with Bi Setareh-ha (Those Without Stars). After that and until 1976 he made about 27 films.
His films include "Aramashe ghabl az tufan", "Fire and Ashes", "A girl shouts", "The Last Hurdle", "The Mountain Tiger", "Stray Hero", "Noah's Ark", "The Bridge", and "The Chandelier" is his last film.
By writing cinematic material and sending them to magazines such as "Jahane Cinema", Parvizi created gradually a name for himself in cinema publications and finally went to Tehran and wrote articles in the "Setare Cinema" magazine alongside critics such as Hajir Dariush, Bahram Reipour, Parviz Davai and Parviz Nouri.
In 1976, Parvizi immigrated to America with his wife Mahin and children with the idea of making movies for Hollywood. In 2009, in an interview with Aref Mohammadi from the Canadian Citizen magazine, he said: "Before I could find myself and establish a relationship, a revolution happened in Iran. After the revolution, they told me to wait for the conditions to improve. This idea of waiting, has now lasted 28 years."
Khosrow Parvizi, the writer and director of the movie "Bi Setareh-ha", despite living a few steps away from Hollywood, had been away from "cinema" for 33 years when he died.
