Saber Rahbar (1931 - May 31, 2014)
Saber Rahbar (born 1931 in Tehran - died May 31, 2014 in Tehran), was an Iranian artist with a background in directing, producing, acting, filming, writing, editing, screenwriting and cinematography.
Saber Rahbar was born in Tehran 1931 and is known for Charkh-e falak (1967), Morad o Laleh (1966) and Masire roodkhaneh (1964).
He is originally from Astara. Rahbar started his artistic activity in 1992 in the technical group of "Pars Film" studio and continued his work as an assistant cameraman.
Saber Rahbar entered the world of cinema in the early 1950s and directed eleven films between 1964 and 1973 and also participated in several film projects as a screenwriter, cinematographer, investor and producer.
In the years after the 1979 revolution, he was employed in the management of Cinema Crystal in Tehran.
Rahbar took over the management of Cinema Krystal in 1963 and turned it into a hangout for cinema lovers in the years when cinemas on Lalezar Street in Tehran were less popular with educated cinema audiences.
In the years after the revolution, Rabar was still managing Cinema Crystal. He received a special statue in 2002 at the 6th Iranian Film Festival.
He died in the evening of June 10, 2014 at the age of 83.
