Mohammad Rahmanian (ِDecember 20, 1962, Teheran, Iran)
Mohammad Rahmanian is an Iranian playwright, theater director and theater teacher.
Rahmanian has staged various plays during his thirty years in the theater field. Among his works, we can mention the Interview, Bridge, Fans, and Cho's Manifesto.
Mohammad Rahmanian was born in 1962 in Tehran. His wife, Mehtab Nasirpour, is an Iranian actress. He has a bachelor's degree in acting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tehran University in 1991 and also a master's degree from the Faculty of Cinema and Theater of the University of Arts in 1998.
He immigrated to Canada in 2009, after he had problems performing in several theaters. He staged several plays there, and then finally returned to Iran in 2012.
Mohammad Rahmanian was arrested on January 6, 2019 with a summons to the Ershad Prosecutor's Office 21 and was released on the same day after filing a bail bond.
In his recent summons (January 6, 2019), he also faced a new accusation of "propaganda against the system" and in a conversation with Qonun newspaper, he said, "I don't know at all how the women's monologues or the end references of the show without any bias or orientation have managed to reach the topic of propaganda against the system."
