Laura Poitras (February 2, 1964, Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.)
Laura Poitras is an American documentary filmmaker.
Poitras is particularly known for the film Citizenfour, and she and a number of colleagues received the Pulitzer Prize in 2014 for the coverage of the NSA leaks and Edward Snowden.
Her 2006 documentary My Country, My Country, about the Iraq War, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2007, and Laura Poitras won an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2015 for Citizenfour.
Poitras lives in Berlin, Germany, in order to work in peace from the surveillance of the US authorities.
