Houshang Hessami (1938 – December 29, 2000)
Hoshang Hosami (born in 1938 in Sanandaj - died in Tehran on ِDecember 29, 2000) was an Iranian journalist, writer, director, actor, film and theatre critic, and translator.
Houshang Hessami is known for Ghiamat-e Eshgh (1973) and Parvaz-e Panjome Juin (1989).
Hessami was born 1938 in Sanandaj. He started his artistic career as a writer and film critic in the press. He was a graduate of English literature and has left many works during his almost 40 years of artistic career.
In 1968, he married Soraya Sadrdanesh (critic, journalist and translator, died in May 1993).
In 1973, he wrote an introduction to the book "The Hidden Charm of the Bourgeoisie" (screenplay written by Luis Buñuel), translated by Bahram Raipour.
In 1978, he staged the play "Escorial". After the revolution, he was the editor-in-chief of Doniaye Sokhan magazine for a while.
Hessami finally died on the morning of 29 December 2000 at the age of 62 due to a heart attack in his residence in Tehran and was buried in Tehran's Behesht Zahra Cemetery.
