Manuchehr Anvar (October 13, 1928, Tehran, Iran)
Manuchehr Anvar (born 13 October 1928) is a Persian writer, editor, translator, director and former BBC radio presenter.
Anvar is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, where he started his artistic activity in 1953.
Manouchehr Anwar attended secondary education at Firouz Bahram High School. In 1944, with the help of Gholam Hossein Salehyar, he formed the theater section of the Firouz Bahram Literary Association. He dropped out of high school and went to England to study at the Royal Academy of Theatre.
After returning to Iran in 1958, Manouchehr Anwar joined the Franklin Book Program. There he established his editorial career and was the editor of Franklin until 1962. After joining the National Art Group and teaching at the university, Anwar mainly started speaking and writing the text of movie announcements.
His most important works are the documentary film Nishdaroo produced in 1964 and the movie version of Bijan Mofid's famous play Shahr-e Ghesse, whose screenplay was written in 1973 by Manouchehr Anwar and Bijan Mofid, and Anwar directed it.
