Turan Mehrzad (September 23, 1930 - December 19, 2023)
Turan Mehrzad (born 1930) is an Iranian veteran theater actress, dubber and radio announcer.
With the real name of Fatemeh Bozorgmehri Rad, she was born on september 1930 in Tehran and is the sister of Iran Bozorgmehri Rad, voice actor and theater actress and one of the most memorable voices in Iranian cinema and television.
She started her artistic activity in theater in 1944 under the supervision of Abdolhossein Noushin and has been one of the main actors of Noushin group in Ferdowsi Theater and Saadi Theater.
She started acting in radio plays in 1956, dubbing in 1959, acting in cinema in 1968 with the film 'Dragon Strait' directed by Siamak Yasami, and acting in television in 1973.
Mehrzad had appeared in the films of prominent Iranian directors including Dariush Mehrjui, Ali Hatami and Masoud Kimiai. Among her prominent performances are The Red Line, Mother, Hamoon, Leila and Burj Mino.
She was the first female speaker to say a morning prayer on the radio.
