Afarin Obeisi, whose real name is Soghra Obeisi (born on March 13, 1952), is an Iranian veteran actress.
She is mostly known for playing opposite the legendary iranian actor Behrouz Vossoughi in Ali Hatami's Toghie (Wood Pigeon 1971).
Afarin Obeisi started her career in cinema with Leyli and Majnoon in 1970, directed by Siamak Yasami, and in the same year, she played opposite Behrouz Vossoughi in Toghie, directed by Ali Hatami.
In 1999, she makes a comeback to the cinema after being 28 years away from the world of acting since the 1979 revolution, by starring in the movie "Fame" by Iraj Ghaderi with a screenplay by Mohammad Hadi Karimi.
In the same year, she played a short role in Reza Mirkarimi's "The Child and The Soldier".
The Hidden Half (by Tahmineh Milani) may be considered as one of her most successful performances after a long break from acting.
