Ezzatollah Vosoogh (1914 - October 2, 1991)
Ezzatollah Vosoogh (1914 – died on 2 October 1991 in Tehran) was an Iranian cinema and theater actor.
Ezzatollah Vosoogh was born in 1914 in the city of Baku, Aserbajdsjan, to Iranian parents. He was a student of "Baku Musical College" and "Baku Dramatic Arts".
Vosoogh returned to Iran in 1932 from Aserbajdsjan and studied acting in acting classes of the "Tehran Municipality" under the supervision of "Ali Daryabeigi" and succeeded in receiving a diploma from Iran's Academy of Acting (the first professional theater school in Iran).
The first film in which he acted was Afsoongar (1952) by Esmail Koushan. His fame is mainly due to his unforgettable performance as "Haji Jabbar" in the movie "A Party in Hell" (1956).
Vosoogh died in 1991 due to cancer at the age of 77 and was buried in Tehran's Behesht Zahra cemetery.
