Vejesta (Susan Sarmadi) (1940, Tehran, Iran)
Vejesta is a veteran Iranian actress born 1940 in Tehran.
Susan Sarmadi, with the stage name Vejesta, is a pre-revolutionary Iranian cinema actress.
Vejesta is known for Conquerors of the Desert (1971), Treasure of the Lost Desert (1984) and Morning of the Fourth Day (1972).
She was introduced under the stage name Farangis to the cinema in 1967 with the movie Nasim Ayyar.
She then acted with her real name in two other films "A Bridge to Heaven" and "Rainbow".
As she believed that one cannot be successful in cinema with one's real name, she changed her stage name to Vejesta in 1971 and shined as a new face in the movie Conquerors of the Desert / Fatehin-e Sahra.
After appearing in 12 films, she retired from acting. Her most important appearance in a movie was The Morning of the Fourth Day directed by Kamran Shirdel, in which she played against Saeed Rad.
