This movie lends its plot (as it it not really a remake) from one of the most iconic movies in the Iranian cinematic history: Soltan ghalbha, staring Mohamad Ali Fardin (better known as Fardin), one of the most famous and beloved Iranian actors ever.
(That film is banned in Iran right now, as it is the case with almost all movies made before the Islamic revolution in Iran.)
