European countries reveal their titles submitted for the Best International Feature Film Award at the 2024 Academy Awards.
With the 96th Academy Awards ceremony scheduled to take place in Hollywood on 10 March, 2024, European countries are starting to reveal their titles submitted for the Best International Feature Film Award.
For this edition, submitted films must have been released in their respective countries between the dates of 1 December 2022 and 31 October 2023, and the deadline for submissions is 2 October.
Fifteen finalists will be selected from the total number of submissions and announced at the end of the year, before the Academy whittles that number down to five, which it will announce as the final nominees at the beginning of 2024.
Last year, a total of 92 submissions were accepted, and 40 came from a European country. Germany's submission, Edward Berger's Netflix title All Quiet on the Western Front, ended up winning the coveted trophy.
