When a young musicologist named Farhad (Ali-Reza Anoushfar) decides to track down the traditional village songs sung by women, he keeps meeting up with obstacles set up by men who object to his work.
Then he hears about a mysterious female singer named Haryan, who has disappeared, and sets out to find her--a journey that ends with a startling revelation.
The subject matter is certainly provocative but "Unfinished Song" doesn't build in power as it should, as Farhad approaches the 'truth' about Haryan. Director Maziar Miri doesn't have much of a visual style and the film doesn't so much reach its conclusion as plod there. --boxoffice.com
