In this Iranian rom-com (2011), a fiercely feminist principal at an all-girls academy (Vishka Asayesh) fires one of her teachers and discovers to her dismay that the only suitable replacement is a man (Reza Attaran).
Despite her aversion to the male sex, he attempts to woo her, and their courtship becomes a battle of wills that allows for a satire of gender inequality.
The premise may seem familiar, but the movie is charming and often quite funny; first-time director Rambod Javan (a popular comedian and sitcom star in Iran) seems to have been inspired by Judd Apatow, particularly in his careful attention to the characters’ idiosyncrasies. --chicagoreader.com
