Ali Miri (March 26, 1940 - March 2, 2009)
Ali Miri was born in 1940 in Shahsavar, Mazandaran, Iran. He was an actor and director, known for Ciccio va Franco-ye vatani (1969), Ghesseye delha (1969) and The Night Story (1973).
Seyyed Ali Miri was a pre-revolution Iranian theater and cinema actor. He had a diploma and graduated from free acting classes.
In 1961, after graduating from acting academy, he started working in theater (Lalezar) and acted in more than 50 plays.
He started acting in the cinema in 1964 by playing a supporting role in the movie "The Devil Knocks", but "Zamzame Mohabbat" was the first movie in which he appeared in a relatively important role.
Ali Miri generally appeared in movies with a Chapeau Hat. Miri acted in more than 70 films, all of which were the products of the so-called Filmfarsi era.
Even though Ali Miri is known as the most lovable comedy actor of Iranian cinema from before the revolution; But in all of those movies, he appeared only as a supporting character.
He died in Tehran on March 2, 2009, while he was hospitalized in Aban hospital due to a heart problem. Miri was buried in Behesht Zahra cemetery in Tehran.
Miri was quoted as saying: "An artist should be at the service of the people and should not be involved with any kind of political party or trend."
