Asghar Bichareh (June 11, 1927 – June 11, 2016) was an Iranian photographer, actor and director, known for Sanad-e zende (1980), Poule halal (1960), Yaghoot-e Se Cheshm (1970) and Farar az Taleh (1971).

He is known as the oldest cinematographer/photographer and having the largest photo archive in Iran. Bichareh was a photographer for the Iranian film and music industries, as well as having a studio and acting in over 23 films.

Asghar Bichareh was born in 1927 in Tehran and from the age of 13 he started working as a simple worker in a photography studio. After a few years, he opened a shop in Tehran's Lalezar district, which was called Shahrazad Photo Gallery and soon It became a hangout for famous artists and writers of that time.

For the first time, he officially entered the world of art by taking copies of all the photos of the movie Dokhtar Lor for Abdul Hossein Sepenta, the screenwriter of this movie. Then, getting to know the theater, in addition to photographing the plays, he sometimes acted in some of them.

A few years later, he worked with the dubbing group of Morteza Hananeh and Hossein Sarshar in Italy. He started photography in 1944. He has held many exhibitions inside and outside of Iran. Asghar Bichareh had left his house on Koushak Street to old movies, where about 400 movies were filmed.

Bichareh was the writer and director of the documentary film "Sanad-e zende" (1980). He has also worked in Iranian cinema as a producer, cinematographer and other departments.

He was also known for his extensive collection of old cameras and cinema and theater photos. He had the second largest collection of photography cameras in Iran after Mohammad-Ali Jadidoleslam.

Bichareh has participated in various photography exhibitions in Iran and other countries of the world. He collected the largest archive of Iranian cinema and theater photos in his home and kept cameras of the oldest Iranian photographers in his personal museum, such as that of "Mashallah Khan, Akkasbashi".

Bichare has written three volumes of books about the history of Iranian cinema. In addition to photographing 38 films, he has also acted in 23 movies.

He died of laryngeal cancer in 2016 in Los Angeles, where he spent the last few years of his life. He had suffered from throat cancer for some time and finally died at the age of 89 on his birthday in his apartment in Los Angeles, where he spent the last few years of his life. His body was transferred from the United States to Iran on July 26, 2016, and was buried at Tehran's Behesht Zahra cemetery in artists' segment on July 28.
