Sayehaye bolande bad | Tall Shadows Of The Wind (1979)
Synopsis
Two villagers go mad when they encounter a scarecrow in the field. Gradually others start to worship the scarecrow till the driver decides to destroy it in order to put an end to the panic.
This film is based on a four page short story by Houshang Golshiri, which together we expanded it into an 85 page script. It is the story of building a scare-crow in a village and how through some events and superstition the scare-crow turns into a revered symbol.
The film has a double edge sword against tyranny and how metaphysical symbols are created by people and how they are ruled by their own creation.
The film has the dubious honor of being banned both before and after revolution. Although after revolution got a three day release but was brought down by the censorship after three days. (Farmanara)
