Hossein Kasbian was born on February 1, 1934 in Tehran, Iran. He was an Iranian theater, cinema and television actor.

During his many years in the field of art, Hossein Kasbian acted in more than 20 TV series and 32 movies.

Hossein Kasbian was born in Tehran. He was a student of the Academy of Arts in 1954. He started his artistic activity in 1952 by acting in the theater. A year later he entered the acting academy.

Kasbian was hired as the head of the Museums Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture and Art in 1958, and two years later, when the National Art Group was established under the leadership of Abbas Javanmard, he was one of the board members of that group.

Since 1959, he has been working sporadically in dubbing. One of his important theater performances was in Pahlavan Akbar Dies, directed by Abbas Javanmard in 1965; And also Miras (Legacy) and Ziafat (feast) of Bahram Beizai in 1967, in both of which he played the role of a servant.

His career in the cinema began in 1972 with Rape (Tajavoz) (a movie by Hamid Mesdaghi). In 1990, he played the role of Mr. Khamarlo, the father of "Asad Khamarlo" (played by Reza Babak) in the TV series "Ziba Barber Shop" directed by Marzieh Boroumand.

He performed his first serious work in 1953 with "Panje" in the faculty of literature, and after that he acted in the play "Much Ado About Nothing" directed by Mostafa Oskouei as the lead actor along with Ezzatollah Entezami.

Kasbian was still the director of the National Art Group until after the Islamic Revolution and continued his theatrical activities, while he also appeared in several films and series, among others, "Rape" by Hamid Mesdaghi in 1961. In 1968, he played in the series "Samak Ayyar" on the basis of which a movie was made and a play was also staged.

In 1965, Kasbian founded the "25 Shahrivar" theater group, which included Abbas Jovanmard, Ezzatollah Entezami, Ali Nasirian and many other artists. Among the plays that they brought to the stage, were "The Chicago Farmer", "The Fairytale Bride", "Death in the Fall" and "Serpent King".

Kasbian continued his theatrical activities until 1981, and the last play he appeared in was "Alamut" directed by Majid Jafari, in which Khosro Shakibai and Farimah Farjami were among the other actors.

Kasbian's presence in the tv series "Afsaneye Soltan va Shaban" (by Dariush Farhang) and "Ziba Barber Salon" (by Marzieh Boroumand) made him remain a memorable figure in the minds of the TV audience. Kasbian is also known for his memorable performance in the series "Life Stories" and "Under the Blue Dome".

Although most of his activities were limited to theater and television, Kasbian appeared in prominent films such as "Downpour (Ragbar)" directed by Bahram Beizai, "Mother" by Ali Hatami, "Delnamak" by Amir Ghavidel and four of the prominent works of Bahman Farmanara "Prince Ehtejab", "Tall Shadows of the Wind", "Smell of Camphor, Fragrance of Jasmine" and "A House Built on Water".

He was honored at the 24th Fajr Theater Festival.

Hossein Kasbian died on May 4, 2006 at the age of 72 due to a relatively long illness.
