Fardin Saheb Zamani (1963, Teheran, Iran)
Fardin Saheb-Zamani was born in 1963. He graduated from Tehran Art University in Film Directing. During this time he used to write in Film Magazine as film critic.
He directed two short films "Cold Season" (2005) and Quartet for Three" (1997) while he was a university student. After university he started the first Digital Sound Editing Studio, Film Ava, with Kayvan Jahanshahi and Majid Eslami.
There he did Sound Designing for a couple of movies, among them: "Women Prison" (Manijeh Hekmat, 2002) and "Paradise For You" (Alireza Davoodnejad); he was nominated for the best Sound Design and Sound Editing in International Fajr Film Festival 2000.
He has done Sound Designing and Sound Editing for the movies such as "Dear Cousin Is Lost" (Dariush Mehrjouii, 1999), "Bad Kids" (Alireza Davoodnejad, 2001), "An Umberlla For Two" (Ahmad Amini, 2001) and "Portrait Of A Woman Faeaway" (Ali Mosaffa, 2003).
He and Ali Mosaffa, the well-known actor and film maker, have started a filmmaking company which still continues working.
In 2010 he made his first feature film, "There Are Things You Don't Know" which brought him international success; including Special Jury Mention in 45th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 2010 and Special Jury Mention in 5th Batumi International Art House Film Festival in 2010 and also he was nominated for Best First Feature Film in 29th International Fajr Film Festival in Tehran. The film was shown in many film festivals and cultural centers around the world.
He has edited his own movie (There Are Things You Don't Know) and also the following feature films: The Last Step (Ali Mosaffa, 2012), What's The Time In Your World? (Safi Yazdanian, 2015), Absence (Ali Mosaffa, 2020). During his working years besides making a music video, "Be Silent", (Vocal Homayoun Shajarian, featuring Mahtab Keramati), he has edited a couple of documentaries such as: A New Day (Negin Kianfar, 2021), Women Of The Silkroad (Yassamin Maleknasr, 2018), Maghloobeh (Azadeh Abbasi, Pouya Mamaghani 2014), Looking For Scheheazade (Safi Yazdanian, 2002), Behesht-e Zahra (Mehran Tamadon, 2001).
He has been sound designer and sound editor for some short films and has directed a couple of commercials. Among his last works we can mention writing, directing and producing a musical animation for children on the basis of Farsi language folklore in the form of an application.
