Mohammad Hadi Karimi (September 6, 1974, Tehran, Iran)
Mohammad Hadi Karimi (born September 6, 1974, Tehran), is an Iranian film director and screenwriter, producer and physician. Karimi is known for movies such as Comedy Ensani (2017), Maral (2001) and Pesar Koshi (2020).
He started his career in cinema and starred in “Sib-e Sorkh-e Hava” directed by Saeed Asadi in 1998. His other activities are “Iran Burger” by Masoud Jafari Jozani and “Sakene Tabagheye Vasat” directed by Shahab Hosseini. He has also directed movies such as “Human Comedy (Comedy Ensani)”, "Snow on a Hot Tin Roof (Barf Rooye Shirvani Dagh)”, “Tonight, the Moonlight Night (Emshab Shabe Mahtabe)” and "Filicide (Pesar Koshi)".
Karimi is the the responsible manager and owner of Tasvire Rooz and Cinema Jahan publications, he has been a screenwriting teacher and the jury member and selection committee of Fajr film festivals and other thematic festivals.
His book of poetry called Snow and Hot Roof was released in 2013 by the prestigious Negah publishing house and reached its fourth edition in less than a year. In the third edition of the press festival, he was awarded as the best art critic and has won many domestic and foreign awards for his screenplays.
He is the winner of the best screenplay award for the movie "Maral" from the sixth Kerala film festival, and also the winner of the Suvarna Chakoram Award for the movie "Maral" from India, a candidate for three Crystal Simorgh for "Snow on a Hot Tin Roof" in the competition section of the 29th edition of Fajr Film Festival and also the best screenplay award for "Adamkosh (The Killer)" from the second edition of the Toronto International Iranian Film Festival.
