House of Paper (2017) Winner of the Audience Award from the London Film Festival

The film premiered at 35th edition of Fajr Film Festival in Iran.
It also received the Audience Award from the London Film Festival in November 2017.
The death of a fellow writer and the return of a lover from abroad inspires a famous journalist to return to work with his daughter as the two investigate the mafia and political corruption - an investigation which will put them both in grave danger.
Amirali (played by Parviz Parastui) is a famous journalist, who gave up his career years earlier after being arrested. His daughter Sara (Tina Pakravan) has followed in her father's footsteps, and is a journalist putting her career ahead of marriage.
Born in 1951 in Mashhad, Mehdi Sabbaghzadeh started experimental film making in 1971. He made a number of 8mm pictures at the Free Cinema Group before directing his first feature in 1980, The Liegemen. He has directed a number of popular features, his most recent being Way of Heaven (2012) which competed in the 30th Fajr International Film Festival and received the Special Jury Award.
The cast of ‘House of Paper’ includes Parviz Parastui, Shaghayegh Farahani, Mehdi Pakdel, Tina Pakravan, Soraya Ghasemi and Alireza Kamali, among others.
