contestant ‘Tala (Gold)’ produced by famed
comedian actor/director Rambod
Javan.
‘Tala (Gold)’ is a star-filled film at the helm
of Parviz
Shahbazi that is competing for Crystal Simorgh at the 37th
Fajr Film Festival.
“The film has been warmly received and supported by the
audience,” Javan said.
‘Gold’ has jammed a bunch of
top-notch stars, including Tannaz
Tabatabaee, Negar
Javaherian, Hoda
Zeinolabedin, Houman
seyyedi and Mehrdad
Seddiqian.
Javan hosted the closing ceremony of the 36th Fajr
International Film Festival last year.
He has appeared in many series and movies among which 'Laboratory', 'Mummy
3', 'No Men Allowed' and 'Spaghetti in 8 minutes'
have been aired by ifilm English.
Rambod Javan made his film-directing debut with 'Spaghetti in 8 minutes' in 2005 and received a Fajr
International Film Festival Crystal Simorgh for Best Actor in a Supporting Role
for 'Sinners'.
About the director
Parviz
Shahbazi is a graduate of filmmaking from Tehran's Iran
Broadcasting College. During the early 80’s he began writing short stories and
directing short films.
He edited several films and directed 12 short films before making his first
feature film, Traveler from the South, in 1996.
Shahbazi's debut
feature film, Traveler
from the South (1996) as well as his second film, Whispers
(2000) went to many festivals and brought him international recognition,
collecting several prizes along the way.
In 2002, his third film, Deep
Breath was shown at the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes Film
Festival to great success. Among other accolades it won a FIPRESCI award at
Pusan and the Jury special award at Turin as well as the Best Film award at the
Belgrade Author Festival.
In 2016 Malaria
was shown at the 73th Venice film festival and won the Grand Prix at the Warsaw
International Film Festival (2016).
