Reza Behbudi (August 23, 1971, Rudsar, Iran)
Reza Behbudi or Behboodi (born August 23, 1971) is an Iranian cinema, theater and television actor.
Behbudi is a graduate of theater direction from the Faculty of Cinema and Theater in 1997. He is a member of Iranian Theater Forum and Leev Theater Group.
He started his career in 1997 by acting in Behrouz Gharibpour's Les Misérables play. He has also been active as a theatre director.
Behbudi played the role of the young Mehdi Bazargan, the prime minister of Iran's interim government, in Roozegare Gharib tv series. Even though Behbudi pursued his education in the field of directing and gained experience in writing, he followed his main path in the field of acting and started acting in theater plays from the seventies.
Like other theater actors, after gaining credit on the stage, he followed his path towards television and cinema. Behbudi's first professional appearance as an actor was in a play titled "After a Show" in 1997, and his first acting experience outside the theater and in front of the camera took place in the short film "Wet Street Corner". An experience that made him enter Iranian television very soon and star in the series "The Last Sin".
Reza Behbudi's entry into the world of cinema was formed by acting in one of the key and important films in the field of art and experience, namely Shahram Mokri's "Ashkan, The charmed ring and other stories" (2009).
However, the fame and positive reviews that Behbudi gained in his professional career are related to the works in which he played in the late nineties. In 2010, Behbudi was able to get very positive reviews with his admirable performance in the series "Beggar Queen" and in 2021, he appeared in the popular series "Khatoon", which increased his fame as an actor.
Behbudi has admitted that although he learned acting in a regular way and mostly played roles in works that used the classical structure, he is not afraid of experimentalism and participating in bold works and he welcomes receiving proposals for them.
Reza Behbudi has been acting since the 1990s and has played in more than 50 theatrical and cinematic works.
