Taghi Zohouri (January 21, 1913 - February 28, 1992)
Taghi Zohouri was born in 1913 in Tehran, Iran. He was an Iranian actor and comedian known for films such as Ganj-e Qaroon (1965), Dalahoo (1967), Dozde-siyahpoush (1968) and Gedayan-e Tehran (1967).
Taghi Zohouri was a graduate of the first year of Tehran's acting high school. After finishing his studies, he joined the Ministry of Justice.
Since 1936, Zahouri was active in Tehran theaters with plays like: "Mashhadi Ebad"; "Bohlul"; "Yousef and Zulaikha" and "Khasis".
He entered the cinema with the movie "Spring Variety" and did also work with dubbing and radio dramas.
In 1971, films such as "Bede Dar Rahe Khoda" (Reza Safai), "Koshgel Mahale" (Iraj Golafshan), "The World Is Mine" (Khosro Parvizi) and "The Trees Dies Standing" (Amir Sharvan), were all screened with Taghi Zohouri as supporting actor.
One of his most memorable performances as movie actor was Ganj-e Qaroon (1965), in which he co-starred the popular Iranian actor and filmmaker Mohammad Ali Fardin.
After an announcement was published in friday evenings newspapers in 1971 about Zohouri's dicision to retire from the cinema, he payed a visit to Mekka. After his returning the artists' union offered him a job as the union's high adviser. Zohouri accepted the offer and did not act in any film since then.
